Position Overview
As a key member of the Flight Operations team, the First Officer CRJ-200 reports directly to the Chief Pilot. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the company's CRJ fleet. The First Officer supports essential operations primarily focused on overseas bases throughout Africa and the Middle East, necessitating a high degree of professionalism and operational readiness in challenging environments.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake the following essential duties:
- Serve professionally as the Second-in-Command (SIC), providing comprehensive support and collaborative assistance to the Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
- Strictly maintain and adhere to all parameters governing operational control throughout all phases of flight.
- Contribute proactively to achieving exceptional on-time performance and meeting all defined flight objectives.
- Ensure the secure and safe operation of company aircraft, prioritizing the security of passengers, crew, high-value cargo, and the airframe itself.
- Facilitate effective communication and operational synergy by liaising seamlessly with the PIC, Voyageur's Dispatch department, Air Traffic Control (ATC), Flight Service Stations (FSS), and customers.
- Verify and confirm the readiness and availability of all necessary navigational documentation and equipment, including current maps, charts, and electronic navigation aids, prior to departure.
- Maintain rigorous adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), applicable air regulations, and established company policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in all mandated safety briefings and diligently utilize the company's sophisticated Safety and Risk Management system.
- Ensure all requisite qualifications necessary to crew CRJ/CL65 aircraft are continuously maintained and current.
- Accurately and efficiently complete all required operational paperwork and flight documentation as necessary.
Distinctive Qualifications for Success
Only candidates who meet the stringent minimum requirements will be considered for this international role:
- Possession of a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Mandatory CL65 Type Rating.
- Minimum of 2,000 hours of verifiable total flight time.
- Minimum of 750 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
- Minimum of 300 hours of flight time specifically on CL65 type aircraft.
- Demonstrated capability to perform assigned duties efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven expertise in complex problem-solving and the ability to proactively identify effective operational solutions.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills essential for international liaison and professional reporting.
- Willingness and ability to operate under a flexible rotation schedule common to international aviation support roles.
- Possession of a valid passport with the capability to travel internationally without restriction.
Previous experience is required, and highly desirable backgrounds include professionals previously serving as Pilots, CRJ, CRJ 200, CRJ 900 Operators, Bombardier Pilots, Captains, and individuals with extensive experience in Airline, Cargo, Charter, or International/Overseas aviation operations.
