Technical Training Instructor

Virgin Atlantic Airways is seeking a skilled Technical Training Instructor to contribute to their vision of becoming the most loved travel company. This role will focus on delivering technical instruction to pilots on Boeing 787, Airbus A330, and A350 aircraft. Initially, the instructor will specialize in either Boeing or Airbus fleet training.

The Technical Training Instructor will be responsible for delivering instructor-led training, overseeing Computer Based Training (CBT) sessions, conducting Dangerous Goods Training, and instructing on company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using Flight Training Devices (FTD). This includes preparing lecture materials, presenting lectures, and advising the Chief Technical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI) on required course syllabus revisions. The role also involves developing training course materials and electronic presentations to enhance pilot proficiency.

Key responsibilities include: Delivering initial and recurrent technical training to pilots, ensuring candidates achieve required examination standards, company approvals, and licensing; managing and motivating candidates to promote a dedicated workforce; coordinating with internal and external training providers. The instructor will also ensure course materials are current, accurate, and meet delegate needs; design new courses and modules based on training needs analyses; and gather course feedback for continuous improvement. Furthermore, the role involves managing documentation for compliance, generating reports and plans, and acting as a point of contact for key departmental or company-wide projects, such as new aircraft entry into service.

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience as a Technical Instructor, demonstrating initiative and the ability to manage a dynamic workload efficiently. A background as an aircraft technician, approved engineer, flight engineer, or pilot is required. While prior technical instruction experience is preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, MS applications, and PowerPoint is essential. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks effectively, and collaborating across teams. Simulator training experience is considered an advantage. The successful candidate will be an adaptable, self-driven, and committed individual, capable of providing effective training within a team-oriented environment.
