About the Role:
TransMedics seeks a highly experienced and motivated individual for the position of Assistant Chief Pilot. This role is instrumental in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of all flight operations. The Assistant Chief Pilot reports directly to the Chief Pilot and provides essential support in various areas, including policy development, operational oversight, and crew management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise flight crews to ensure adherence to all company policies, FAA regulations, and aircraft operating procedures.
- Collaborate with the Chief Pilot in developing, implementing, and administering company policies related to flight operations.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of and ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including 14 CFR Part 135, Operations Specifications, and the company's General Operations Manual.
- Oversee flight operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular assessments and implement corrective actions to mitigate potential operational delays, address crew legality issues, and resolve maintenance concerns.
- Champion a culture of safety and strive for the highest degree of operational excellence.
- Identify and recommend process and communication improvements within the flight operations department.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client aircraft operations and sensitive security matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot.
Qualifications:
- Extensive piloting experience with a strong background in aviation management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of 14 CFR Part 119 and 135.
- Exceptional leadership and management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, iOS applications, and internet-based programs.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- EMB-505 Type Rating
- Current First Class Medical Certificate with a clean record.
- Valid and Unrestricted Passport
- Minimum of 3,000 hours total flight time
- Minimum of 1,500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time
