Phenom 300 Captain
TransMedics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Phenom 300 Captain to join its dedicated aviation team. As the Pilot-in-Command (PIC), this individual will hold the ultimate authority and responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This pivotal role demands exceptional leadership, unwavering adherence to federal aviation regulations, and a proactive approach to operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as the final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC).
- Ensures comprehensive knowledge of and strict compliance with all FAA regulations, Company Flight Operations Manuals, Operations Specifications, Letters of Authorization (LOAs), Flight Manuals, and other applicable guidelines.
- Conducts all aircraft operations and related job assignments in accordance with established policies within the General Operations Manual and Company Manuals.
- Completes all flight, aircraft, and passenger records accurately, neatly, and in a timely manner.
- Supervises and guides other crewmembers in the effective performance of their duties.
- Ensures meticulous compliance with flight and duty time limitations and mandated rest periods as per established policies.
- Must have completed initial or recurrent training phases in the preceding 12 months.
- Reviews the Flight/Maintenance Log (Form MF-9/MR-10 or applicable) to verify the airworthiness of the aircraft and coordinates with appropriate maintenance personnel for any required servicing or repairs.
- Ensures the thorough accomplishment of pre-flight, post-flight, and routine servicing of the aircraft in accordance with established policies.
- Coordinates client requests for itinerary changes directly with the Operations Control Center.
- Performs critical duties as Ground and In-flight Security Coordinator, strictly adhering to the provisions of 40 CFR 1544.215(b-c).
- Verifies that all appropriate manuals, charts, and equipment are current and on board the aircraft.
- Ensures all crewmembers and passengers possess valid passports, immunizations, visas, and clearances necessary for customs, immigration, and agricultural inspections.
- Manages international arrivals and departures to ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Exercises operational control on behalf of the Director of Operations, ensuring that no person other than a flight crewmember manipulates aircraft controls.
- Identifies, anticipates, and takes corrective action to minimize actual or potential delays caused by scheduling operations, crew legality, or maintenance issues.
- Recommends and contributes to process and communication improvements within the aviation department.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all cases involving client aircraft operations and sensitive security matters.
- Performs other TransMedics tasks and duties as necessary.
Required Background and Qualifications
- A minimum of 3,000 hours total flight time.
- At least 1,500 hours as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of all Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to FAR Part 135 and Part 91 operations.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office, iOS, and various internet-based programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs up a flight of stairs.
Certifications, Licenses, and Special Requirements
- Must hold an EMB-505 Type Rating.
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Current First Class Medical Certificate with a clean record.
- Valid and unrestricted Passport.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
