Instructor Pilot

CAE is seeking an experienced Instructor Pilot to join our team, delivering high-quality flight simulator and ground school training. In this role, the successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring training excellence and safety while preparing pilots for critical flight operations. After approximately 1.5 years, designated instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman, subject to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive simulator and classroom instruction for various licenses, type ratings, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
  • Conduct professional pre-flight and post-flight simulator briefings in alignment with CAE standards.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation, monitor instructional qualifications, and provide recommendations for remedial training.
  • Contribute as a subject matter expert (SME) in the ongoing development and maintenance of training curricula and courseware.
  • Foster a professional, customer-focused learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hold or meet the qualifications to obtain an unrestricted ATP certificate.
  • Possess a minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • Current type rating on the Phenom 300.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong passion for aviation education.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Must participate in the CAE DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to demonstrate physical dexterity required for fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to sit in a confined space for 4–6 hours at a time with limited breaks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours, with limited breaks.
  • Capacity to sit, stoop, climb, twist, and turn as necessary for simulator instruction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience flying business aircraft and single-pilot operations.
  • Previous professional instructional or training experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor instruction to a diverse, global customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain records in compliance with FAA and CAE requirements.
