Position Summary
Thrive Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (Captain) to lead safe and efficient aircraft operations. The Captain holds primary responsibility for all ground and in-flight phases, ensuring an exceptional and professional experience for our valued customers. This pivotal role also involves fostering clear communication with leadership, team members, and dispatch, while serving as a dedicated leader and mentor to First Officers, cultivating a culture of insight, prestige, and authenticity within the flight crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the ultimate authority and be primarily responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the aircraft during all ground and flight phases.
- Report administratively to the Chief Pilot.
- Ensure meticulous completion of all pre-flight checklists and procedures.
- Verify passenger identification prior to boarding.
- Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to First Officers on assigned flights and aircraft, promoting professional growth and adherence to best practices.
- Proactively anticipate and exceed customer expectations, delivering an unparalleled service experience.
- Strictly adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, Thrive Aviation's General Operations Manual (GOM), Operational Specifications, and departmental operating procedures.
- Maintain seamless communication and coordination with the assigned flight crew, dispatch, maintenance personnel, and administrative teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 3,000 hours of Fixed Wing Total Time.
- A minimum of 1,500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) Total Time.
- A minimum of 500 hours of Total Turbine Time.
- Possession of a valid, unexpired U.S. Passport.
- Current Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Valid FCC Radio License.
- Current and valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrated exceptional communication skills.
- Proven ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving company needs.
- Eligibility to fly internationally without restrictions in any country or jurisdiction.
- Residency within a two-hour commute of a major airport.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in Corporate Aviation or Part 135 Charter operations.
- Possession of a current type rating for aircraft within Thrive Aviation's fleet.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Capacity to maintain a seated position in confined spaces for extended durations.
Work Environment:
- The role primarily involves prolonged periods of sitting within the cockpit.
- Regular interaction with customers and flight crew in a confined cabin environment.
- Frequent domestic and international travel, including extended periods away from home.
- Requirement for flexibility to accommodate irregular hours, on-call assignments, and short-notice schedule adjustments.
