Overview
A distinguished aviation organization is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Citation CJ3 Captain for a managed aircraft operation. This full-time position is based out of Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport (BTP) and requires the successful candidate to reside within the Greater Pittsburgh Area. The Captain holds primary responsibility for ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional operation of company aircraft under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 135, while consistently delivering an exceptional level of customer service. Administratively, the Captain reports to the Chief Pilot.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safe and efficient domestic flight operations in strict adherence to FAR Part 135 and established company procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with and lead the crew, ensuring seamless flight execution and adherence to duty assignments.
- Provide outstanding customer service, including greeting passengers, assisting with seating and luggage, and conducting thorough passenger briefings.
- Maintain a current First-Class Medical Certificate and promptly notify the company of any medical (physical or mental) condition that may impair the ability to perform flight duties.
- Adhere to all duties and responsibilities outlined in company procedure manuals, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support comprehensive flight operations.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Certifications
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- First-Class Medical Certificate (current and maintained).
- Appropriate Citation CJ3 Type Rating.
- Minimum 3,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) fixed-wing time.
- Minimum 1,000 hours Turbine PIC.
- Minimum 200 hours Multi-Engine Time.
- Valid Passport with the ability to obtain and maintain CANPASS authorization for unrestricted travel to and from Canada as a commercial pilot.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of FAR Part 135, FAA, ICAO, and international flight operations regulations.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems and limitations.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and achieve objectives without direct supervision.
- Skilled in resolving technical issues, interpreting technical documentation, and effectively applying procedures.
- Proficient in using word processing, email, and web-based/mobile applications.
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States and provide two forms of Federal Identification.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check prior to employment, including verification of previous employment, education, and criminal history.
- Ability to maintain a well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 3,500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) fixed-wing time.

Compensation
An annual salary of $140,000.00 is offered for this position.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
The role involves exposure to typical aviation environments, including loud noises from aircraft machinery and jet engines, as well as varying outdoor and industrial/hangar conditions. Travel requirements may lead to exposure to extreme temperatures. The position requires comfort in typical business aircraft interiors, which may involve tight or cramped spaces.
Physical demands include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to see and hear clearly, and to read, comprehend, and speak English clearly.
- Ability to climb, twist, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and move in tight quarters.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions as needed.
- Ability to regularly push/pull up to 70 pounds and lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Travel Requirements
This position requires 100% travel while on rotation.
