ASSISTANT CHIEF PILOT
Location: Atlanta, GA
Position Purpose:
Provides operational and administrative support to the Chief Pilot on all day-to-day matters to include pilot scheduling, office invoice inquiries, vendor relations and negotiations, expense report review/ approval, standardization conformity flight checks and performance evaluations.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
15%Function as Pilot in Command on Home Depot aircraft for the purpose of maintaining a high degree of technical competence and awareness of safe aircraft operations, anywhere in the world that includes the United States, Canada, Mexico and other international destinations.
15%Must be able to fully perform all flight related duties. Provide guidance to flight personnel to assure safe, efficient and coordinated use of corporate aircraft.
15%Responsible for the conduct of safe flight operations and the compliance of all applicable FAA regulations, as well as internal Home Depot policies.
15%Serves as Senior Captain (flight responsibilities)
10%Fill Chief Pilot’s role during that person’s absence
10%Perform administrative support functions, pilot scheduling, invoicing, expense report, etc.
10%Contribute to the promotion and development of the department safety culture and management programs.
10%Select, develop, and motivate assigned staff
Nature and Scope:
Position reports to the Chief Pilot
Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues — including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

3. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.

Must meet many, simultaneous demands for important decisions/actions and face some confrontations or other difficult situations and demands for results.
QUALIFICATIONS
Standard Minimum Qualifications:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:
10 years
Certifications & Licenses:
Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate; FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; Type Rated in at least two corporate jet aircraft.
Physical Requirements:
Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
