About the Role
The Gulfstream V (G-V) Program Pilot serves as a critical member of the flight operations team, responsible for comprehensive mission planning, aircrew mobilization, critical weather assessments, airspace coordination, and the safe operation of the company’s advanced Gulfstream V aircraft. This demanding role requires the ability to operate autonomously in diverse and potentially austere global environments. The pilot will engage directly with domestic and international government representatives to support contractual obligations. A requisite security clearance is mandatory, or eligibility for such clearance by recognized authorities.
Mission Responsibilities
- Operate aircraft as Pilot in Command (PIC) and Second in Command (SIC) to support airborne data acquisition flight activities within Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS).
- Undertake extensive travel and rotational deployments to CONUS and potentially austere OCONUS duty locations.
- Secure and maintain an active Secret level security clearance, completing all required pre-deployment training through designated governmental training centers.
- Execute precise aerial survey flight operations tailored to a variety of sophisticated sensor requirements.
- Perform comprehensive functional check flights.
- Adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Army 95-20 regulations, and all company flight operations and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight briefings for Tenax and customer personnel.
- Represent Tenax professionally, fostering strong customer relationships and maintaining a positive pilot image among clients and the general public.
- Provide consistent daily communication to the Chief Pilot and Flight Operations Manager during assignments.
- Undertake other flight assignments and duties as may be assigned.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily from field locations, utilizing standard office equipment. Significant travel and rotational deployments to CONUS and potentially austere OCONUS duty stations are integral to the role.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Active Top-Secret SCI security clearance.
- Current FAA Multi-Engine Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating.
- Valid FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
- Minimum flight time experience: 3,000 total hours, with at least 1,500 hours in multi-engine turbine aircraft. Of the multi-engine turbine hours, a minimum of 500 hours must be in multi-engine turbojet aircraft.
- A minimum of 1,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC), with at least 300 hours in a similar type aircraft.
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and an international driver’s permit.
- Physical capability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Availability to work extended hours when operational demands require.
- Current U.S. Passport.
- Ability to obtain necessary visas for international travel.
- Maintenance of all required pilot medical certificates, type ratings, and recurrent training certifications.
- Fulfillment of minimum pilot qualifications as stipulated by contractual agreements.
- Successful completion of pre-deployment training, DOT drug testing, and a medical examination in accordance with program standards, typically through a CONUS Replacement Center.
Preferred Qualifications
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Gulfstream V (G-V) type rating and/or demonstrated current proficiency in large-cabin, multi-engine turbojet aircraft.
- Prior international PIC flight experience.
- Previous operational flight experience with U.S. Government agencies.
- Experience in Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), aerial mapping, or airborne data collection mission profiles.
- Previous overseas military or government rotation experience.
- Familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210-1C or Army Regulation 95-20.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
