Position Summary
The Pilot in Command (PIC) reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flight duties, adhering strictly to company operating policies and procedures. The PIC holds ultimate authority for the safe conduct of each flight, with paramount emphasis on safety, security, and quality. This role ensures all operations meet the highest industry standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- 1,500 hours Turbine flight time.
- 100 hours Night flight time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time.
- A minimum of 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities
- Safely operate the aircraft, determine flight schedules, routes, and authorize flight cancellations based on weather or operational conditions.
- Ensure all flights are conducted in full compliance with federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary adjustments to flight operations based on en-route conditions, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct all flights in a safe, prudent, and professional manner, meeting all industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Thoroughly brief the Second in Command on all flight-related aspects, ensuring complete understanding.
- Maintain a comprehensive aircraft discrepancy log, documenting all issues and immediately reporting them to the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Ensure flight crew members report for duty in appropriate attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Possess and maintain a complete working knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft post-flight, arranging for hangar storage as necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain the latest weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized aviation sources.
- File flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state Air Traffic Control facilities.
- Analyze aeronautical charts for destination airports and alternates.
- Perform duties as the In-TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under applicable security programs.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings or delegate this responsibility to the Second in Command.
- Mentor and train the Second in Command to prepare them for PIC duties and career advancement.
- Transmit the leg manifest to Operations Control prior to each departure.
- Submit the End of Day (EOD) report to Operations Control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively promote and support open communication regarding safety, reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- While duties may be delegated, the ultimate responsibility for these duties remains with the Pilot in Command.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation professionally internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment
Employees will encounter work environments ranging from heavy maintenance areas to upscale customer lounges. Noise levels may be moderate, with occasional high volumes during aircraft arrivals and departures. The role involves frequent exposure to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. Employees must be prepared to work in all weather conditions. The hangar environment can experience extreme temperatures during different seasons.
