DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

The Corporate Chief Pilot is responsible for the companys flight operations to include overall compliance relating to scheduling, operations, maintenance coordination and safety procedures. The Chief Pilot is responsible for pilot training, pilot records, and operational standards for select pilot personnel.

Essential Functions

  • Enforces operational standards of all company flight operations manuals across all aircraft and ensures compliance by all assigned company pilots
  • Implements and administers company standard operating procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality of service
  • Directs and guides flight operations to ensure they are conducted in accordance with established company practices and procedures and in compliance with applicable government and contract regulations
  • Ensures that flights are manned by technically competent and legally qualified crew members to include review and approval of contracted pilots
  • Supervises activities and performance of company pilots and provides periodic written evaluations
  • Remains on-call for internal flight requirements utilizing corporate-use aircraft for Tenax personnel, members of the Tenax Board of Directors, and such other persons as Tenax leadership may from time-to-time authorize
  • Pilots aircraft as required to include mission planning, aircrew mobilization, weather decisions, airspace coordination and safe operation of the companys aircraft
  • Ensures each Tenax-owned aircraft is properly equipped with aeronautical charts, navigational aids, etc. required for safe flight through various vendor subscriptions
  • Documents aircraft discrepancies and reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
  • Acts as the Companys Part 135 Chief Pilot and/or Director of Operations.
  • Maintains and updates the Pilot Record Database
  • Acts as the AOSC for the TSA 12-5 Security Program
  • Maintains records of activities, flight logs and training in accordance with company and FAA requirements
  • Represents Tenax by supporting our customer and presenting a professional pilot image to customers and the general public.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude and can adapt to change

Supervisory Responsibility

Responsible for select pilots assigned to fly Tenax owned aircraft

Work Environment

This job may operate in various field locations, however, mostly operates from an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel and deployment could be required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • FAA, ATP and Multi-Engine ratings
  • FAA Class I Medical Certificate
  • Flight time experience: total time of 4,000 hours of which 2,000 must be multi-engine turbo-prop time
  • Must have 2,000 hours as PIC
  • Must meet the minimum requirements for Part 135 Chief Pilot/Director of Operations as outlined in 14 CFR 119
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and current US Passport
  • Able to secure necessary VISA(s)
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently without direct supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior 135 Chief Pilot or Director of Operations experience
  • Experience with international flight operations
  • Experience with US Government operational flight requirements
  • Experience flying aerial/fire mapping, ISR, or airborne data collection mission profiles
  • Familiarity with DCMA Instruction 8210-1C
