Spirit Airlines is seeking qualified candidates for a pilot position. The ideal applicant will possess a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by the FAA and a Class 1 Medical Certificate. A minimum of 500 hours total flight time is required. A type rating is not required, as training will be provided. Candidates must hold a FCC Radio Telephone Operator Permit and possess a valid passport with at least nine months of validity, granting the ability to travel to all destinations served by Spirit Airlines. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States and be recommended by a partner school faculty member or chief instructor. Successful candidates must have completed their sophomore year in an accredited aviation degree program and must be capable of obtaining the required certifications prior to ATP/CTP and Jet Transition courses. They will be required to complete all program requirements and meet FAA standards for an Unrestricted ATP or Restricted ATP (if in the university program). Following a final program review, all cadets will attend ATP/CTP and a Spirit-specific A320 Jet Transition course before receiving a new hire class date. Prior to the official start date, candidates will undergo pre-employment testing and background checks. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.
