Position Overview

Frontier Airlines is seeking a qualified Aviation On-the-Job Training (OJT) Instructor to provide essential practical training for its Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering organizations. Reporting to the Manager-OJT Training, this role is crucial in supplementing classroom instruction with hands-on learning experiences. The instructor will support initial and recurrent practical training, special projects, and ensure comprehensive understanding of maintenance procedures. Varied shifts may be required to support the maintenance organization's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver formal, structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) to aircraft maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct Run/Taxi/Radio initial and recurrent OJT training and qualifications specifically for the Airbus fleet.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and qualification for ground support and servicing operations.
  • Perform OJT qualification training on Airbus aircraft systems, avionics, and structures.
  • Promote safety through practical demonstrations of compliance with established standards.
  • Support initiatives for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and Apprentice Maintenance programs.
  • Embody and promote the company's core values of safety, integrity, excellence, and teamwork through exemplary conduct.
  • Travel to alternate stations to conduct OJT as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using standard office software and digital aircraft maintenance systems.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and integration of OJT programs within Frontier Airlines' Technical Operations.
  • Support and champion Tech Ops safety initiatives.
  • Accurately document all training completion records in the Learning Management System.
  • Assist with cross-departmental functions as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in transport category aircraft maintenance.
  • Previous experience in conducting aviation maintenance on-the-job training is highly preferred.
  • Previous Airbus A320 systems training and Run/Taxi qualification are preferred.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
  • Must be able to acquire a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
  • Must successfully pass all required background checks and pre-employment DOT testing.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.

  • Proven ability to plan and conduct specific OJT training lessons and accurately evaluate technician performance against completion standards.
  • Highly developed organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Familiarity with aviation industry regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects exceeding 100 lbs., and regular lifting/pushing/pulling of objects over 50 lbs.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Capability to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated reliability, timeliness, and dependability.

Work Environment & Remote Work

This position offers flexibility and can be based at the company's headquarters in Denver, CO, or remotely from anywhere within the United States. Remote employees will be required to travel periodically to Denver. Remote work requires adherence to company policies, including maintaining a high-speed internet connection and comfort working from a home office. Headquarters-based positions will operate within a typical office environment.

Physical Requirements

This role involves strenuous physical activity, including the ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds frequently.

Compensation & Application Details

Salary Range: $81,752 - $108,511 annually.
