Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The Gulfstream G450 Captain will be entrusted with the comprehensive and safe operation of the Gulfstream G450 aircraft. This includes, but is not limited to, meticulously conducting flights in strict adherence to Solairus Aviation's policies, procedures, and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). Key duties involve:

  • Ensuring the safe and compliant operation of the Gulfstream G450 aircraft at all times.
  • Conducting all flights in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with governing regulations and company operational standards.
  • Thoroughly reviewing the maintenance status of the aircraft prior to each flight leg.
  • Executing a proper and detailed pre-flight inspection in strict accordance with the approved Aircraft Flight Manual.
  • Performing a complete and comprehensive check of weather and facilities along the planned route of flight, including a meticulous assessment of primary and alternate airports.
  • Confirming that all flight operations align seamlessly with the established policies and procedures of Solairus Aviation and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Guaranteeing the utmost safety and comfort for all passengers, and the security of the aircraft and crew.
  • Accurately completing all required trip paperwork in accordance with current operational procedures and company protocols.

Required Qualifications

Prospective candidates must possess an impressive flight record, demonstrating extensive experience across various flight parameters:

  • Total Flight Time: A minimum of 3,000 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: A minimum of 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land (MEL) Time: A minimum of 1,500 hours
  • Multi-Engine Land Pilot-in-Command (MEL PIC) Time: A minimum of 500 hours
  • Turbo Jet Time: A minimum of 500 hours
  • Instrument Time: A minimum of 250 hours

Specific Certifications and Requirements

Beyond flight hour qualifications, specific certifications and operational requirements include:

  • A current and valid Type Rating on the Gulfstream G450 or a comparable business jet aircraft.
  • Possession of a valid and current First Class Medical Certificate.
  • The ability to operate effectively and reliably on an on-call basis, accommodating dynamic scheduling demands inherent in private aviation.
  • A commitment to completing annual ICAO International Procedures training to maintain global operational readiness.
  • A primary residence within a two-hour drive from the KOXC airport, or a willingness to relocate to the Oxford, CT area to ensure operational responsiveness.

Compensation and Benefits

Solairus Aviation offers a highly competitive compensation structure for its dedicated crewmembers. The annual salary range for this position is $50,000 to $500,000. Compensation is meticulously determined based on factors such as geographic area, experience level, specific equipment type/aircraft flown, job duties, required training, and the assigned account.
