Jet Turbine Pilot Position at Sierra Pacific Industries
Sierra Pacific Industries, a third-generation family-owned company, is seeking a skilled and experienced Jet Turbine Pilot to join its growing flight department. As one of the largest lumber and millwork producers in the United States, the company offers a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.
The Role:
The successful candidate will serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC) for a fleet of modern business aircraft including the Gulfstream G500, Hawker 4,000, Pilatus PC24, and Bell 429. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations and safe operating procedures, with a focus on:
- Flight Operations: Ensuring compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and company policies, including weather analysis and decision-making regarding flight delays, rerouting, or cancellations.
- Aircraft Maintenance: Performing pre-flight inspections, ensuring the aircraft is prepared for safe operation.
- Passenger Safety and Comfort: Prioritizing the well-being of passengers and crew members throughout the flight.
- Dispatch and Logistics: Assisting with dispatching functions pertaining to airport and fuel requirements, coordinating aircraft servicing, and managing refueling.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate logs of flight data, including time in flight, altitude, and fuel consumption.
- Security: Understanding and adhering to all airport and company security requirements, maintaining necessary clearances and training.
- Customer Service: Representing the company with professionalism and exceptional customer service.
- Interpersonal Skills: Building and maintaining positive relationships with management and regular passengers.
- Ground Transportation: Assisting with ground transportation arrangements for passengers.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a jet pilot with a current Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license and a First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Part 91 & 135 Experience: 2 years of experience in Part 91 and/or Part 135 operations.
- Flight Hours: A minimum of 1,500 turbine flight hours.
- Safety Record: No FAA sanctions or accidents within the past 5 years.
- Type Rating: Preference will be given to candidates with type ratings for company aircraft.
- Technical Knowledge: A thorough understanding of FAA Part 91 regulations, weather conditions, and air traffic control procedures.
- Professionalism: Demonstrated strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing schedules and operational demands.
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently, including occasional multi-day trips away from home.
