Bell Training Academy Pilot

This role is an integral part of the Bell Training Academy Team, contributing experience and ideas to instruct clients and customers on Bell aircraft. The Bell Training Academy Pilot is responsible for delivering academic ground instruction and simulator training for visual and instrument flight. This position requires educating customers on aircraft systems, planning considerations, and in-flight operations utilizing various training tools, including classroom instruction, training devices, flight simulators, and aircraft flight training across different Bell models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver academic ground instruction and simulator training to customers for visual and instrument flight.
  • Coordinate and participate in the development of flight and ground training courseware.
  • Ensure compliance with flight safety protocols and practice area procedures.
  • Interface with the maintenance facility group to ensure aircraft are adequately prepared for flight.
  • Adhere to all applicable Aviation Authority requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during sales and marketing flights.
  • Support return-to-service flights, sales/marketing flights, and ferry flights, both domestically and internationally, on an as-needed basis.

This position involves opportunity for worldwide off-site travel to provide academic and flight training to a global customer base and may require planning and executing aircraft flights around the world. The role involves working closely with customers and employees and may necessitate working shifts outside of the standard 8 am-5 pm schedule based on business demand. Travel is estimated at 15% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of Helicopter Aviation experience.
  • Commercial Rotorcraft license.
  • CFI/CFII certification (or AGI for ground instructors).
  • At least 1000 hours total time in helicopters.
  • At least 500 hours as an instructor pilot.
  • No history of pilot's license revocation by the FAA or other regulatory agencies.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of meeting department objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and MS Projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • ATP – Rotorcraft certification.
  • NVG experience.
  • 500 hours of instrument experience.
  • High familiarity with Bell products, with certifications/qualifications received for Bell model aircraft being a significant advantage.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
  • Increased instructor experience level based on instruction time in aircraft.
  • Prior experience instructing for other Civil Aviation Authorities.
  • Prior experience completing FAA/EASA audits.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion while working under pressure of deadlines and priority changes.
