This position requires advanced culinary skills and a genuine passion for food, with advanced culinary training strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exemplary service to clients, prioritizing the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout flights.
- Direct and assist passengers effectively in emergency situations.
- Administer basic first aid, including CPR and AED, to passengers as needed.
- Ensure cabin compliance with federal regulations by securing it before take-off and landing.
- Reassure passengers during turbulence or other unsettling flight conditions.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight briefings.
- Manage and stock all onboard provisions, including food, beverages, blankets, reading materials, and emergency equipment, ensuring sufficiency for the trip and number of passengers.
- Procure specialty items specifically requested by passengers for their flights.
- Maintain the pristine condition of the cabin, galley, lavatories, and flight deck through diligent inspection, cleaning, and stocking after each flight leg, ensuring the aircraft is always prepared for flight.
- Conduct periodic cabin checks to ensure continuous passenger comfort and cleanliness.
- Complete all required pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight paperwork accurately.
- Operate aircraft audio and video systems proficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Corporate Flight Attendant.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Current First Aid Training Certification, including CPR and AED.
- Flight attendant-specific training from recognized institutions such as FlightSafety, FACTs, or similar is preferred; annual recurrent training is mandatory. Candidates without formal training may be considered based on other qualifications but must complete initial flight attendant training before flight assignment. Preference will be given to those who have completed FlightSafety, FACTs, or similar training within the past 12 months.
- Exceptional culinary skills and specific culinary training are required; advanced culinary training is strongly preferred.
- Technologically savvy with proficiency in the operation of Cabin Management Systems (CMS), all galley equipment, and all cabin features (e.g., berthing seats, divan configuration into a bed).
- Demonstrated flexibility, patience, and the ability to manage a constantly changing schedule, including late-night flights and short-notice deployments (2-3 hour response time when on standby).
- Unrestricted ability to travel worldwide for up to 16 consecutive days, with consideration for health and visa status.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- A college degree is preferred.
- Fluency in one or more foreign languages is preferred.
- Experience with small children is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Vision: Vision must be correctable to 20/20 or better with glasses or contact lenses. Uncorrected vision should be no worse than 20/20. Must be able to read reports, charts, manage post-flight paperwork, and effectively use a computer, smartphone, and/or iPad device.
- Hearing/Speaking: Must be able to speak clearly. Adequate hearing is essential to communicate effectively over the phone and in person with clients, co-workers, and pilots, even when the aircraft is in flight.
- Standing/Walking: Must be physically capable and strong enough to walk and stand without assistance. This role requires the ability to stand for up to 14 hours with limited ability to sit and work long hours in various climates.
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling/Bending: Must be able to kneel in the luggage compartment to load trip supplies and luggage. The ability to maneuver in tight confinements within the aircraft is also required.
- Fingering/Grasping/Feeling/Strength: Must be able to push open/pull closed the main cabin door, which weighs up to 130 pounds. The role requires the ability to write, type, use a computer and a phone, and prepare/cook and serve food and beverages. Must be able to lift supplies weighing approximately 25 to 30 pounds, from floor level to waist high repeatedly.
Compensation
Solairus Aviation offers competitive compensation, with crewmembers typically earning between $50,000 and $500,000 annually. Salary is determined based on geographic area, experience, aircraft type, specific job duties, training, and the assigned account.
