Job Overview
Solairus Aviation seeks a dedicated and flexible Full-Time Flight Attendant for an operation based at Reno Tahoe International Airport (KRNO). The Flight Attendant is responsible for ensuring the utmost safety, comfort, and satisfaction of aircraft passengers throughout their journey, providing exceptional personal services. Key duties include warmly greeting passengers, thoroughly explaining safety equipment usage, and meticulously serving culinary delights and beverages.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver an exceptional level of service to clients, guaranteeing passenger safety and comfort during all flights.
- Direct and assist passengers with guidance and support during emergency situations.
- Administer essential basic first aid, including CPR and AED, to passengers requiring immediate assistance.
- Ensure cabin security and compliance with all federal regulations prior to take-off and landing.
- Provide reassurance and calm to passengers during periods of turbulence or other unsettling flight conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive preflight briefings for passengers.
- Verify that all necessary provisions, including food, beverages, blankets, reading materials, and emergency equipment, are adequately stocked for the duration of the trip and number of passengers.
- Procure items specifically requested by passengers for their flight experience.
- Perform thorough inspections, cleaning, and stocking of the cabin, galley, lavatories, and flight deck following each flight segment. Maintain the aircraft in a constant state of readiness, cleanliness, and optimal stocking.
- Conduct periodic cabin checks to uphold passenger comfort and cabin cleanliness standards.
- Complete all required preflight, in-flight, and post-flight documentation accurately.
- Operate and manage aircraft audio and video systems effectively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a thorough understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Hold a valid First Aid Training Certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Corporate Flight Attendant.
- Flight attendant-specific training from recognized institutions such as FlightSafety, FACTs, or similar is highly preferred; annual recurrent training is mandatory.
- Candidates without formal flight attendant training may be considered based on exceptional qualifications but will be required to complete initial flight attendant training prior to flight assignment.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed recognized flight attendant training (e.g., FlightSafety, FACTs) within the preceding 12 months.
- Demonstrate advanced technological proficiency.
- Exhibit exceptional flexibility, adaptability, and patience.
- Possess strong culinary skills and demonstrable culinary-specific training.
- Ability to manage a dynamic and constantly changing schedule, including late-night flights.
- Readiness to fly on short notice, with a response time of 2-3 hours when on standby.
- Possess unrestricted global travel capability, considering health and visa status.
- Availability to deploy for up to 16 consecutive days.
- Proficiency in operating all features of the Cabin Management Systems.
- Expertise in operating all galley equipment.
- Competence in operating all cabin features, including configuring berthing seats and transforming the divan into a bed.
- Exemplary interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Possess a high degree of attention to detail.
- A college degree is preferred.
- Fluency in one or more foreign languages is preferred.
- Experience with young children is preferred.
Specific Physical Qualifications and Certifications
- Vision: Must have vision correctable to 20/20 or better with glasses or contact lenses. Uncorrected vision should be no worse than 20/20. Must be capable of reading reports, charts, managing post-flight paperwork, and effectively using computer, smartphone, and/or iPad devices.
- Hearing/Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly. Adequate hearing is required to communicate effectively via phone and in person with clients, colleagues, and pilots, even during aircraft flight.
- Mobility: Must possess the physical capability and stamina to walk and stand unaided. The ability to stand for up to 14 hours with limited sitting is essential. Must be able to work extended hours in diverse climatic conditions.
- Dexterity: Must be able to kneel to load trip supplies and luggage in the baggage compartment. Must be adept at maneuvering within the confined spaces of the aircraft.
- Strength: Must be able to push open and pull closed the main cabin door, which can weigh up to 130 pounds. Must be proficient in writing, typing, computer use, and phone operation, as well as the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages. Ability to repeatedly lift supplies weighing approximately 25-30 pounds from floor to waist level is required.
