Chief Pilot
Sheetz is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Pilot to provide leadership and management oversight of its flight operations. This position is based on-site in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania and requires a full-time commitment. The Chief Pilot will cultivate a culture that emphasizes operational safety and best practices, embodying the Sheetz “DNA”.
Responsibilities:
The Chief Pilot will be responsible for:
- Instructing flight crews on standard operating procedures, measuring effectiveness, setting performance goals, providing regular feedback, and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Offering coaching and development opportunities for direct reports and ensuring department personnel training complies with Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies.
- Establishing and supervising initial and recurrent training for aviation personnel, both internally and through external professional training facilities.
- Conducting flight operations safely in accordance with Federal, State, Local, and foreign regulations, as well as company policies.
- Ensuring the maintenance of Sheetz corporate aircraft and facilities to high standards and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
- Assisting in the record-keeping requirements of the department, including maintaining lease agreements, employee and contractor records, and aircraft records.
- Participating in technical audits, communicating results, and preparing periodic reports and statistics.
- Assisting in the planning, budgeting, and monitoring efforts of the department.
- Developing and maintaining all company Aviation department manuals, including flight operations guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Representing Sheetz in aviation matters through trade associations, the FAA, and other relevant bodies while remaining informed of the latest developments in the business aviation community.
- Acting as liaison between government officials and aviation industry representatives on behalf of Sheetz, Inc.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or Management from an accredited college/university is required; an Associate degree and CAM certification may be considered equivalent. Working towards completion of CAM certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years experience as Pilot in Command of multi-engine turbine aircraft operating in a crew environment.
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate ratings and limitations, or equivalent experience.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit or higher.
- Current Second Class FAA Medical Certificate or higher.
- Current Passport.
- 4,000 hours total flight time, including 2,000 hours PIC in turbine multi-engine aircraft, and 500 hours Make/Model.
This position offers a Monday-to-Friday schedule with 2-3 flying days per week, ensuring the individual is home every evening, and flights require a two-pilot crew. A relocation package is offered. Candidates must reside within one hour of the terminal.
