The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

RTX has an exciting opportunity open for a Flight Attendant Supervisor . This position is based out of our East Granby, CT location.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as Flight Attendant on assigned flights, attending to the needs of passengers, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Always maintain situational awareness. Exercise good judgment when making in-flight and on the ground decisions.
  • Provide strong leadership and supervisory oversight for all aspects of Flight Attendant performance. Select new Flight Attendants as needed. Provide initial and on-going training to all Flight Attendant staff. Provide input for the scheduling of Flight Attendants. Provide direction and oversight of assigned non-flight responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with Chief Pilot and trip Captains to ensure performance standards of Flight Attendants are maintained. Oversee all phases of cabin service/standard operations to ensure each flight is effectively managed and meets expectations.
  • Develop Flight Attendants through knowledge, skills, trust, and leadership to the same extremely high consistent standard for everyone to follow. Standards of excellence on catering, VVIP service, pre and post flight requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a Flight Attendant manual and aircraft checklist to be used as a guide for normal operating procedures, unusual situations and in-flight illness and injury. Establish and maintain resources for Flight Attendants, such as caterer list, city profiles and customer profiles.
  • Assure cleanliness and flight readiness for passenger areas for all aircraft that utilize Flight Attendants. Supervise, purchase and delegate the stocking and ordering of standard stock service items. Maintain responsibility for overall orderliness and cleanliness of stockroom, flight kitchen, flight attendant office and other storage areas where cabin service items are stored.
  • As necessary, negotiate with vendors providing catering and other services to RTFlight. Assure that all food, materials, and services provided by local, domestic, and international vendors are of the highest quality and are provided at reasonable cost.
  • Maintain active involvement with industry organizations and emergent issues within the industry. Serve on committees and teams within and outside of the department, as requested and approved, and when such involvement would have positive results for the flight department or the corporation.
  • Develop, maintain, and provide training for all processes within span of control, in accordance with current ISBAO requirements. Participate in the company Safety Management System with the understanding it is each person’s responsibility to recognize, anticipate, and report safety related matters.
  • Assist in the establishment of annual operating budgets and the monitoring of operational expenses, as appropriate.
  • Utilize and train Flight Attendants in the use of consistently outstanding culinary and presentation skills, including the finer points of serving etiquette, i.e., use of proper china, glassware, silver, etc.
  • Must be able to travel worldwide without restriction. Travel requirements/business needs of the client population dictate specific travel plans. Specifically, the incumbent must be able and willing to travel to all areas of the Middle East to include Saudi Arabia and other Middle Eastern countries as necessary. Additional travel to other areas will also be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be customer focused and have demonstrated strong supervisory, communication, and listening skills with all levels of staff.
  • 5+ years’ experience as Flight Attendant.
  • Must be flexible, willing to work irregular and long hours according to flight schedules (with respect to crew duty limits)
  • A valid certificate from FACTS Aircare International or Flight Safety International’s qualification course, and Medaire certification in the management of in-flight illness, injury, and defibrillator use.
  • Demonstrated innovative culinary skills and safe food handling.
  • Proficient with aircraft cabin management systems and operations of equipment on board the aircraft as well as perform basic troubleshooting.
  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

PREFFERED QUAIFICATIONS

  • Ability to provide first-class level of customer service and aircraft environment.
  • Possess a strong ability to assess and meet the needs of others with the required attention to detail for each specific passenger.
  • Maintain primary residence within one hour driving distance of flight operations/hangar.
  • Enjoys traveling and maintain a positive attitude under stress.
