Second in Command Pilot - Gulfstream G450
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks a Second in Command Pilot to join their team in support of a G450 based at Gary/Chicago International Airport (GYY). Position Highlights:
- Stable Schedule: Enjoy a balanced lifestyle with a predictable schedule. The majority of the trip calendar is known one to two months in advance, allowing for personal commitments and travel planning.
- Dedicated Team: Work within a supportive three-pilot crew (2 PIC and 1 SIC) dedicated to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. International trips are scheduled with ample notice to ensure time for planning and crew coordination, and travel home between flight segments is frequently approved.
- Exceptional Aircraft: Operate a meticulously maintained Gulfstream G450 supported by a full-time Maintenance Technician and housed in a dedicated hangar.
- Desirable Flight Operations: This position offers approximately 300-350 flight hours annually, flying both Part 91 and internal Part 135 (no retail charter).
Responsibilities:
The Second in Command Pilot reports to the Chief Pilot and is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flight duties. Key responsibilities include:
- Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all company GOM, FAA regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, and other relevant instructions. Actively contributing to the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting any safety, security, or quality concerns.
- Aircraft Care: Assisting with post-flight duties, including cleaning the cockpit, removing catering items, and reporting any interior discrepancies to the Pilot in Command.
- Customer Service: Providing exceptional service by arranging and obtaining necessary cabin items, including catering, as directed by the Flight Operations Center.
- Professionalism: Maintaining accurate flight and duty logs, reporting all commercial flying activities outside the company, and ensuring timely submission of medical certificates.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
- 2-4 years of relevant aviation experience
Minimum Flight Hour Requirements:
- Total flight time: 2500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 500 hours
- Instrument: 150 hours
- Jet: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine: 100 hours
- Time in Type: 50 hours
Preferred Qualifications:
- Gulfstream experience
- Local candidates residing within driving distance of Gary/Chicago International Airport (GYY)
