Position Overview

The Pilot in Command operates within the flight crew division of our Part 135 charter flight operations, primarily responsible for delivering exceptional service to charter customers. This pivotal role requires comprehensive knowledge of company procedures and strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.

The Flight Operations Department is dedicated to providing safe, secure, and convenient air transportation tailored to client demands. A distinctive aspect of the Million Air/American Jet team's mission is a commitment to "saving lives," offering a unique lifestyle option for Part 135 pilots, potentially reducing extended trips away from home and family often associated with typical charter operations.

The Part 135 charter fleet comprises various mid-cabin aircraft. Comprehensive type-specific training will be provided to qualified candidates with requisite hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures uncompromised safety standards in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
  • Greets customers with professionalism and warmth, fostering strong rapport with aircraft owners and passengers.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of aircraft to confirm cleanliness and operational readiness prior to customer arrival.
  • Maintains clear, timely, and professional communication with all stakeholders via in-person interactions, phone, and email, including advising Flight Operations of customer preferences.

Reporting Structure

The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Chief Pilot.

Work Environment

The role operates within a dynamic and professional aviation environment. The Pilot in Command may be exposed to diverse weather conditions and will have direct contact with both moving and stationary aircraft.

Position Type and Schedule

This is an exempt, full-time position. The role necessitates flexibility with varying duty schedules, including evenings, weekends, and scheduled company holidays.

Travel

Travel is inherent to the duties of a Pilot in Command; no additional non-flight related travel is anticipated.

Required Qualifications

  • Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2000 total flight hours required; previous Part 135 experience is preferred.
  • Holds a current and valid First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Demonstrates, or commits to acquiring, extensive knowledge of 14 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and all applicable FAA regulations.
  • Meets the experience requirements stipulated in 14 CFR Part 135.243(a)(1) & (c).
  • Eligible for entry into Canada via the CANPASS program.

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Possession of an acceptable driving record.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check.
  • Adherence to the company's strict zero-tolerance drug policy.
  • Residency within 45 minutes of the base airport is required.
