Pilot in Command (PIC) - Citation XLS

Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company and subsidiary of NetJets, is seeking a qualified Pilot in Command for a Citation XLS aircraft based in Bridgeport, CT (BDR). Established in 1977, EJM is a leader in aircraft management and global jet charter services, dedicated to the principles of safety, service, and integrity.

Position Purpose

The Pilot in Command (PIC) is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the Citation XLS aircraft. This is a 3-pilot account with an annual flight volume of 300–400 hours (up to 150 hours Part 91 and up to 250 hours Part 135). The successful candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a two-hour radius of the BDR airport.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Operational Safety

  • Ensure all crewing and trip assignments comply with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Perform flight planning, performance, and weight and balance calculations.
  • Utilize Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to lead briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and fulfill duties as the Ground and In-Flight Security Coordinator.
  • Complete pre-flight tasks, monitor aircraft maintenance status, record discrepancies, and oversee ground servicing (fuel, oil, oxygen).
  • Conduct passenger briefings and ensure exceptional service for all passengers, including those with special needs.
  • Apply Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear communication during all flight phases.

Service Excellence

  • Provide high-quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities for enhancement and resolving service deviations.
  • Collaborate with crew members and internal partners to provide a consistent service experience and resolve conflicts professionally.

Compliance and Proficiency

  • Maintain required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
  • Comply with the company Safety Management System (SMS) and report all safety or non-compliance concerns.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3,500 hours total flight time.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot in Command (PIC).
  • Minimum 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land (MEL).
  • Minimum 500 hours PIC MEL.
  • Minimum 500 hours Jet time.
  • Minimum 300 hours Instrument time.
  • FAA Type rating in the Citation XLS.
  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is preferred.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position.

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary Range: $160,000 – $175,000.
