Role Overview

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an experienced, safety-focused Senior International Captain to command Gulfstream G600 international flights under FAA Part 91. Based in the Houston area, the successful candidate will provide premium executive air transportation services while managing international flight planning, regulatory compliance, and crew mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for Gulfstream G600 international missions, ensuring adherence to company policy and FAR Part 91 regulations.
  • Direct long-range and oceanic flight planning, including performance calculations, weather analysis, and international permit coordination.
  • Manage dispatch, crew scheduling, ground handling, and operational decision-making to ensure mission efficiency.
  • Oversee aircraft airworthiness through rigorous pre-flight and post-flight inspections in coordination with maintenance teams.
  • Maintain operational currency through recurrent simulator training and proficiency checks.
  • Provide leadership and training in Crew Resource Management (CRM), Safety Management Systems (SMS), and emergency procedures.
  • Engage professionally with executives, international authorities, and external vendors.
  • Contribute to safety programs, risk assessments, and operational strategy development.

Minimum Requirements

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Valid passport with the ability to obtain necessary international visas and permits.
  • Minimum of 6,000 total flight hours.
  • Minimum of 4,000 hours of multi-engine jet flight time.
  • Proven PIC experience in international operations and long-range, multi-crew aircraft.
  • In-depth knowledge of FARs applicable to Part 91 operations and ICAO international standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Command experience in large cabin, long-range aircraft (GVII/600/500, GVI/650, or similar).
  • Instructor or evaluator credentials (e.g., check airman, TR/FE experience).
  • Additional certifications such as A&P or advanced SMS training.
  • Multilingual proficiency relevant to global operational regions.
  • Background in VIP or client-focused executive flight operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Expectations

Candidates must possess strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in modern avionics, FMS operations, and flight planning software is required. The role demands the ability to operate in high-pressure environments, manage fatigue, and perform physical pre-flight inspections.

This role requires extensive international travel, including weekends, holidays, and variable hours. Employment is subject to background checks, employment verification, and drug/alcohol screening.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position in Texas is USD 153,000 – 352,500. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, experience, education, and skill level. Variable incentives may also be provided.
