Role Overview
Horizon Air is seeking a dedicated Team Captain to provide leadership to the Ground Service group. In this role, the Team Captain serves as a working leader, assuming responsibility for the direction, motivation, evaluation, and approval of the work performed by Ground Service Agents. The successful candidate will ensure airport operations run efficiently, creating remarkable experiences for guests from curb to cabin.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, direct, and motivate Ground Service Agents to achieve the strategic goals of Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines.

Ensure strict adherence to operational procedures.

Manage daily shift operations, including flight assignments, scheduling, and personnel oversight.

Perform clerical functions, prepare reports, and assist with passenger needs and conflict resolution.

Execute Ground Service Agent duties as required.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 6 months of customer service or airline operations experience.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum age of 18.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Valid, unexpired driver’s license (issued by a U.S. state, territory, or D.C.).

Proficiency in basic mathematics and English communication.

Strong active listening and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead, direct, and motivate teams.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
-
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds consistently, stand for long periods, and perform movements including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and grasping.

Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of customer service or community service experience.

Previous leadership experience.

This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain an Airport SIDA badge. Failure to qualify for or maintain the SIDA badge will result in termination.
