Job Description

The Captain operates jet aircraft in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with the Company aircraft schedule, operational directives and in accordance with International, Federal, State and Local laws and regulations; as well as our Company's Corporate Policies and the our Company's Flight Operations Manual.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as Pilot-in-Command in GVI and or GV SP aircraft on assigned domestic and international trips.
  • Directly responsible for the safety, comfort and convenience of flight crew and passengers.
  • Supervise assigned flight crew when assigned as Pilot-in-Command.
  • Ensure that all flight and ground operations comply with federal and state regulations, as well as our Company's standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with the crew in analyzing weather conditions and makes decisions to ensure the safe operation of Company aircraft.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations staff in making decisions that affect the operation of Company aircraft.
  • Effectively utilize the principles of Crew Resource Management.
  • Make decisions necessary for the start, delay, or cancellation of assigned flights and for the deviation of a flight from its planned route or destination when conditions dictate.
  • Maintain required FAA certificates.
  • Complete all training necessary for performance of assigned duties and as dictated within the Company Flight Operations Manual.
  • May assume Second-in-Command duties when flying with another Company Captain.
  • Complete other supplemental duties within the department, as assigned by the Chief Pilot.

NOTE: This role requires working a flexible schedule that will include overnight and weekend duty to satisfy the requirements of the on-demand nature of a global corporate aviation operation.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Associates Degree

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Ten years professional pilot experience in turbine-powered aircraft.
  • Two years experience in an on-demand flight environment.
  • FAA ATP certificate with the ability to obtain GV/GV type rating.
  • History of successful completion of FAA and Company competency checks.
  • FAA First Class medical certificate.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated discipline / integrity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic, international, and oceanic flight rules.
  • Minimum Flight Time requirements:
    • 3,500 hours total flight time
    • 3,000 hours total flight time in airplanes
    • 1,500 hours total flight time in multi-engine airplanes
    • 500 hours total flight time in transport category jets
    • 250 hours total instrument time

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor or Military Flight Instructor/Evaluator
