Second in Command – Phenom 300
Full-Time – BVT (East Coast Home-Based)
Jet Linx is actively seeking qualified Second in Command (SIC) candidates for its fleet of Light jet aircraft, specifically for the Phenom 300. This role supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The ideal candidate is expected to reside within the U.S. Eastern Time Zone and possess direct commuting capability to BVT and other key operational markets.
Position Summary
The Second in Command (SIC) reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot. The SIC plays a crucial role in assisting with the preparation and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. This is performed in strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, contributing significantly to the safety and reliability of Jet Linx flight operations.
Essential Functions
Key responsibilities for the Second in Command include:
- Managing duty, flight, and rest times to comply with both company requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining consistent communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position reporting, and the submission of pre- and post-flight reports.
- Effectively maintaining and managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
- Ensuring all required navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and readily accessible.
- Holding and maintaining a current FAA 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Consistently demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making skills during all operational phases.
- Upholding and embodying Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following minimum flight hour requirements:
- Total Time: 1500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 500 hours
- Total PIC Multi-Engine: 25 hours
- Total Turbine: 100 hours
- Total Instrument: 150 hours
Other Requirements
Additional qualifications and requirements include:
- Initial or Recurrent Part 142 training in the Phenom 300 aircraft type within the last 24 months is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Demonstrated proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Possession of a current passport.
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the ability to obtain an ATP.
- Possession of a 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and consent to random drug/alcohol testing as required by regulations.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to authorize and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted with a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- The majority of work is conducted in and around aircraft and aviation terminals.
- Ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
