Second in Command (SIC) – Light Jet Pilot (CJ3)

Jet Linx is actively seeking a highly qualified and experienced Second in Command (SIC) pilot for its Light Jet operations, specifically for the CJ3 aircraft. This full-time position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, and requires the successful candidate to live within a two-hour call-out radius of the home base or be willing to relocate. Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command (SIC) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. This position supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures. The SIC is responsible for assisting with all aspects of pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight duties to maintain the highest standards of safety and client satisfaction within our corporate aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following essential functions:
- Proactively manage duty, flight, and rest times in strict accordance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with the company regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and accurate pre- and post-flight reports.
- Proficiently maintain and manage Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications, ensuring operational readiness.
- Verify the currency of all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals.
- Exhibit strong, proactive decision-making skills in dynamic operational environments.
- Consistently uphold and embody Jet Linx's core values in all professional interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates for this critical Light Jet SIC pilot role must meet the following requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 1500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total PIC Multi-Engine Time: 25 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
- Possess and maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Hold an FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Have the unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to Canada and Caribbean countries, and possess a current passport.
- Be able to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
- Provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and be subject to random drug/alcohol testing as required.
- Be able to release and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or possess equivalent professional work experience.
- Be capable of frequently moving up to 50 pounds, with the majority of work performed in and around aircraft and airport terminals.
Preferred Qualifications
While not strictly required, the following qualifications are highly preferred for this corporate aviation pilot position:
- Completion of Initial or Recurrent Part 142 training in type (CJ3) within the last 24 months.
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or demonstrated ability to obtain one.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command pilot position ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. The actual base salary provided is dependent upon geographic location, aircraft size (crew positions), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
