Captain, Challenger 350 – Jet Aviation
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join its team based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire (KPSM). This role offers an onsite, full-time position within our Flight Services department.
Position Summary:
The Captain reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Challenger 350 aircraft. As Pilot in Command (PIC), the Captain holds ultimate authority for all flight-related decisions, prioritizing safety, security, and quality throughout each flight operation. This role requires extensive international travel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Challenger 350 Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command time.
- 1500 hours turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours turbine time.
- 100 hours night flight time.
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities:
The Captain will:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining optimal departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on prevailing weather and operational conditions.
- Ensure strict adherence to all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary in-flight adjustments to maintain compliance and safety.
- Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, aligning with industry best practices and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip documentation.
- Maintain clear and comprehensive communication with the First Officer regarding all flight aspects.
- Document all aircraft discrepancies, promptly reporting them to maintenance personnel and following established procedures for addressing malfunctions.
- Verify that flight crew members are appropriately attired and physically and mentally fit for duty.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft post-flight, arranging hangar storage as needed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized sources.
- File flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO authority.
- Analyze area, en-route, and terminal charts for the destination and alternate airports.
- Fulfill the duties of the TSA Flight Security Coordinator (FSC) as per applicable security programs.
- Conduct or assign passenger safety briefings.
- Mentor and train the First Officer, preparing them for PIC duties.
- Submit timely leg manifests and end-of-day reports to operations control.
- Actively participate in safety reporting initiatives, promptly reporting all hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Represent Jet Aviation professionally with internal and external stakeholders, including industry groups, regulatory bodies, and General Dynamics.
- Perform additional duties as required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, working in various weather conditions, and navigating both hangar and upscale customer environments. The work environment may include moderate to loud noise levels, vibrations, fuel fumes, and exposure to extreme temperatures.
