First Officer - Embark on a Career in Aviation Excellence
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team of aviation professionals as a First Officer. Reporting to the Chief Pilot, the First Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient flight operations.
Responsibilities:
The First Officer's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including, but not limited to:
- Safety First: Assisting the Captain in upholding all safety responsibilities throughout the flight operation.
- Exceptional Service: Providing passengers with a positive and memorable travel experience through exceptional customer service.
- Flight Operations: Meticulously executing assigned duties during flight preparation, in-flight procedures, and post-flight operations.
- Command Readiness: Maintaining preparedness to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in the event of an emergency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of and adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company policies relevant to assigned duties.
- Operational Precision: Strictly complying with flight schedules and directives governing the aircraft's operation.
- Preflight Diligence: Ensuring that all preflight inspections are thoroughly completed.
- Meteorological Awareness: Analyzing weather conditions at the destination, en route, alternate airports, and departure points.
- Passenger Comfort & Safety: Guaranteeing the aircraft is clean, properly provisioned, and fully prepared to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers.
- Flight Planning & Performance: Reviewing and calculating aircraft weight and balance, fuel levels, and performance charts.
- Standardized Procedures: Utilizing checklists meticulously throughout all phases of flight.
- Collaborative Decision-Making: Assisting the Captain in making critical decisions regarding flight initiation, delays, cancellations, or route deviations as dictated by operational conditions.
- Ground Operations Oversight: Supervising aircraft refueling and servicing as directed by the Captain.
- Passenger Assistance: Contributing to efficient passenger handling by assisting with baggage loading/unloading and other tasks as required.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and complete aircraft forms, logs, records, and reports.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Aviation, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications:
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate - Airplane Multi-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane (Required)
- First Class Medical Certificate (Required)
- Experience:
- 1,500 hours total flight time (Preferred)
- 500 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command experience (Preferred)
- 500 hours multi-engine experience (Preferred)
- 250 hours turbojet or turboprop experience in a crew environment (Preferred)
- Safety Record: No accidents, incidents, or FAA violations.
- Other: Valid Driver's License
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This position requires the ability to work in both internal and external environments, with potential exposure to inclement weather and varying temperatures. Extensive periods will be spent onboard the aircraft, demanding attention to detail, long hours, and the ability to make independent judgments regarding flight safety. The role necessitates:
- Physical Abilities: The ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist. The First Officer must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate weight, operate equipment requiring fine motor coordination, and travel using various modes of transportation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills are essential for clear and effective information exchange.
- Vision: Meeting visual acuity standards is crucial for safe flight operations.
- Hearing: Normal hearing range, with or without correction, is required.
