Global Medical Response (GMR), an authorized provider of the Department of Defense SkillBridge program, offers an exceptional opportunity for active-duty U.S. Military service members to gain valuable civilian work experience within the medical response industry. Through a comprehensive program of training, internships, and on-the-job experience, participants can seamlessly transition their military skills into a rewarding civilian career.
This SkillBridge program, designed to run for 90 days, provides active-duty personnel with skilled employment training during the final six months of their obligated service. Service members participating in the SkillBridge program will retain their military pay and benefits. GMR does not provide compensation during this period. Program start dates are carefully aligned with company orientation schedules and service member availability.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Must be a current active-duty service member.
- Must meet all DoD SkillBridge qualifications.
- Must be available to participate for 90 days.
- Must obtain written approval from their unit commander (O4 or above) and acknowledge that program participation may be terminated by the service at any time due to mission requirements.
SkillBridge Program Experience:
- A typical schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off is offered at most locations.
- 24-hour base housing is provided at most locations.
Post-SkillBridge Employment:
While program completion does not guarantee employment with GMR, newly hired GMR/Guardian Flight Pilots may expect the following:
- A starting base salary ranging from $91,167.60 to $100,284.36, or higher, commensurate with experience and aircraft type.
- A geographic modifier of 0% to 70% depending on the assigned base location.
- A $15,000 sign-on bonus and a $40,000 retention bonus after three years of service, applicable at all locations.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will ensure all flight operations adhere to Federal Aviation Regulations, the Guardian Flight EMS Operations Manual, and all relevant state and municipal regulations. Primary duties include:
- Operating aircraft safely and efficiently, with strict adherence to the Fixed Wing Flight Manual.
- Monitoring weather forecasts and current weather conditions.
- Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections of aircraft, documenting any discrepancies in the engineering log, and notifying maintenance personnel.
- Reporting to each shift rested, prepared, and informed about weather and forecast changes.
Pilot Qualifications (Specific Aircraft):
PC-12:
- Experience (Line Pilot):
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed-wing hours
- 1,000 pilot-in-command (PIC) hours
- 500 cross-country hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours, with at least 50 actual hours.
- Education and Credentials:
- Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land (C-ASEL) rating required.
- Must be willing and able to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating within 5 years of employment.
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate.
- Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
KING AIR C90/B200:
- Experience (Line Pilot):
- 2,500 total flight hours
- 2,000 fixed-wing hours
- 1,000 PIC hours
- 500 cross-country hours
- 500 multi-engine hours
- 100 night hours
- 75 instrument hours, with at least 50 actual hours.
- Education and Credentials:
- Commercial Airplane Multi Engine Land (C-AMEL) rating required.
- Must be willing and able to obtain an ATP rating within 5 years of employment.
- Current FAA Class I or II Medical Certificate.
- Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
LEAR 45:
- Experience (PIC):
- 4,000 fixed-wing hours
- 1,000 turbine hours
- 500 crew environment hours
- EMS flight experience preferred.
- Education and Credentials:
- ATP-ME rating required
- Must be willing and able to obtain an ATP rating within 5 years of employment.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate (6 months).
- Valid and unexpired driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
