Position Summary:
George J. Priester Aviation is seeking a qualified and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to join a dedicated 3-pilot flight department based in Loveland, Colorado (FNL). This role is centered around the operation of a G500 aircraft, projected to operate approximately 150 hours per year. The Pilot in Command holds final authority for the safe and efficient operation of assigned aircraft, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and operational procedures. This position requires comprehensive management of all aspects of flight preparation and execution, including crew coordination, risk assessment, and passenger service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a strong focus on safety and delivering outstanding customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Flight Operations: Serves as the Pilot in Command, exercising final authority for the safe operation of the aircraft on all assigned flights. Ensures full compliance with FAA regulations, company flight operations manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Pre-flight Planning: Conducts thorough pre-flight planning processes, including detailed weather analysis, performance calculations, routing optimization, fuel planning, and comprehensive aircraft airworthiness checks. Ensures all flight preparations meet company and regulatory standards.
- Crew Resource Management (CRM): Maintains a high level of crew coordination and effective communication throughout all phases of flight. Leads the crew in executing duties in a professional, efficient, and cooperative manner, promoting a robust culture of teamwork and safety.
- Passenger Service: Delivers the highest standard of customer service, prioritizing the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers. Acts as the primary point of contact for clients during flight, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Safety Management: Actively participates in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), championing a proactive safety culture. Identifies and mitigates risks utilizing established risk analysis tools and engages in safety audits and corrective action processes.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provides mentorship and guidance to First Officers and other flight crew members. Ensures all crew members understand their respective roles and responsibilities, offering clear direction and constructive feedback to support professional growth.
- Post-flight Duties: Completes all required post-flight documentation accurately, including trip reports, logbook entries, and any necessary maintenance or operational notes. Reports any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures all flight operations adhere to FAA regulations, maintaining currency with required training, medical certifications, and company policies. Keeps flight crew records meticulously up to date.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Flight Experience:
- Minimum 5000 total flight hours.
- Minimum 2500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Minimum 2500 hours multi-engine land, with at least 1500 hours as multi-engine PIC.
- Minimum 2000 hours in turbine aircraft.
- Minimum 500 hours instrument time.
- Certifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with multi-engine land rating.
- Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Skills:
- Profound knowledge of FAA regulations, advanced flight planning techniques, and safety management systems.
- Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities, demonstrating the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in utilizing flight planning and aviation management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit.
- Previous experience in Part 135 operations.
This is an exempt position that requires flexibility to accommodate business operational demands.
