Position Summary: First Officer (Aviation Professional)
Frontier Airlines seeks highly qualified, safety-focused aviation professionals for the critical role of First Officer. The First Officer supports the Captain in ensuring the utmost safety and timely execution of all flight operations, strictly adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established Company policies. This role is fundamental in delivering Frontier’s signature hospitality and excellent customer service while maintaining the highest operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Executes all flight operations safely and punctually, ensuring stringent compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and established Company protocols.
- Assumes responsibility for the professional and secure operation of the assigned aircraft during scheduled duty periods, which includes required weekend, holiday, and night operations.
- Verifies the aircraft's airworthy condition through diligent completion of comprehensive pre-flight and post-flight inspections.
- Conducts thorough flight planning, ensuring proper fueling procedures are observed to guarantee safe flight execution.
- Acquires and maintains current awareness of existing and forecast weather conditions for departure, arrival, and designated alternate stations prior to each flight.
- Assists the ground team with the proper handling of the aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo at terminal points, diligently focusing on achieving on-time departure performance.
- Promptly communicates essential operational updates, including instances of turbulence, adverse weather conditions, or other factors affecting the flight, to crew members and passengers.
- Reviews the official load manifest and verifies the final passenger count before every scheduled departure.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Prospective candidates must meet or exceed the following flight hour minimums and professional qualifications:
- A minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time (2,500 hours preferred).
- A minimum of 750 hours of multi-engine fixed-wing experience.
- A minimum of 500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
- A minimum of 500 hours operating jet/turboprop aircraft.
- Possession of a current, valid FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio Operator’s Permit.
- Must hold a valid U.S. Passport with machine-readable print, authorizing international travel, or a valid foreign passport with full authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated ability to travel internationally across all cities and countries served by Frontier Airlines.
- Willingness and capability to relocate as required by operational needs.
- Commitment to working variable schedules, including weekends, nights, holidays, and overnight trips, including “red-eye” flights.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and comprehensive background checks is mandatory.
- Compliance with all Company COVID policies, including the requirement for new hires to be fully vaccinated by their first day of employment, to the degree permitted by law.
- Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS) is highly desirable.
