Flight Instructor

The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles, ensuring clients achieve their professional training objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
  • Develop and prepare training materials to meet specific client needs in alignment with the applicable curriculum.
  • Evaluate trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or additional instruction as required.
  • Maintain accurate training records to support client success.
  • Identify and escalate training issues for resolution prior to execution.
  • Maintain all necessary instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in the DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
  • Unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
  • If an ATP is not held, candidates must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 (without a Supervised Operating Experience limitation).
  • Minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
  • Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
  • Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of aviation safety standards, practices, and common aviation regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms and facilitate effective instruction.
  • Proficient first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
  • Highly coachable with an openness to receiving feedback for professional development.
