Flight Crew Training Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company, seeks a Flight Crew Training Instructor (FCTI) to deliver comprehensive ground-based academic instruction to U.S. Air Force and Allied Nation KC-46 Pilots, Aeromedical students, and Maintenance Engine Run students. The instructor will engage students in classroom settings, Pilot Part Task Trainers (PTTP), Boom Operator Part Task Trainers (PTTB), Fuselage Trainers (FuT), Weapon Systems Trainers (WST), and the KC-46 Aircraft, meticulously monitoring progress and documenting student performance within formal aircrew, aeromedical, and maintenance training courses.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial, upgrade, and requalification academic training utilizing various devices, including classrooms, PTTPs, PTTBs, FuTs, WSTs, and the KC-46 aircraft.
- Deliver the Maintenance Engine Run course.
- Conduct other ground-based training for KC-46 crew members, including Visual Threat Recognition and Avoidance training.
- Conduct briefings, debriefings, and counseling sessions with Pilot, Aeromedical, and Maintenance students, fostering technical expertise and proficiency.
- Extract and analyze student data, preparing for student review sessions.
- Serve as a KC-46 Aircraft Systems Subject Matter Expert for students and relevant personnel.
- Maintain exceptional standards of instruction, knowledge, capabilities, and expertise.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of KC-46 aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge and application of instructional principles and theories related to aircrew training systems.
- Provide input for courseware corrections, modifications, and updates to training policies and procedures.
- Operate the Learning Management System and Graduate Training Integration Management System.
- Conduct examinations and prepare results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive aviation aircrew or aviation-related instructor experience commensurate with required training topics (aircraft systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process.
- Courseware development experience.
- Tanker and receiver experience as a Crewmember.
- Aviation Mechanics, Flight Engineers, Navigators, or Weapon Systems Officers with at least 10 years of military experience in the associated position(s).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to morally and ethically influence others to achieve program goals.
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interface with students and provide on-the-spot remediation or determine alternative courses of action.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers and software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Successful completion of an annual internal standardization evaluation.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a SECRET clearance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires regular sitting, use of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus are required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
