Instructor Pilot - Aviation Training

CAE seeks a dedicated Instructor Pilot to contribute to aviation excellence by developing pilot confidence and skill through high-quality simulator and ground training. This role involves leading training sessions, conducting thorough pre- and post-flight briefings, and serving as a subject matter expert for assigned aircraft platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver flight simulator and ground school training in alignment with regulatory requirements, CAE curriculum, and customer expectations.
  • Conduct professional, comprehensive pre- and post-flight simulator briefings.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for client training and internal course development.
  • Perform administrative duties, including completing training records, maintaining instructional qualifications, and recommending remedial training when necessary.
  • Provide instruction across one or more aircraft types for licenses, type ratings, certificates, and internal qualifications.
  • Qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman following approximately 1.5 years of service, subject to business need.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
  • Capability to move into different positions, including confined spaces.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods (standing or sitting).
  • Capacity to move about to accomplish tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally move or adjust objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Capacity for occasional repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, or fingers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Unrestricted ATP certificate or completion of ATP Written examination.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet-based programs.
  • Participation in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unrestricted PIC Type Rating.
  • FAR Part 135 experience and 3,000+ total flight hours.
  • Experience flying business aircraft.
  • Prior instructional or training experience.
  • Ability to tailor training content to a diverse customer base.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accurate recordkeeping in accordance with CAE and FAA standards.
  • Demonstrated customer-service mindset and ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Professional character with strong verbal and written communication skills.
