Position Purpose
The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to all applicable aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials aligned with curriculum requirements to meet client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress, recommending qualification or further training as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and detailed training records for each client to support their learning objectives.
- Identify and address client training challenges, seeking necessary support to ensure effective instruction.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in compliance with regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eligible and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possess an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- Alternatively, if an ATP is not held, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Hold at least one unrestricted PIC type rating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.

- Strong understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Effective class management and teaching capabilities.
- First-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Ability to receive feedback and adapt for professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role requires regular use of hands for object manipulation, reaching, and communication. Employees may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use taste/smell senses. The position necessitates the ability to reach, apply pressure, and manipulate simulator controls with feet and hands. Employees must be able to enter and exit simulator devices, move between instructor stations, and exit a malfunctioning simulator under specific conditions. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment involves proximity to moving mechanical parts, potential work at heights, and exposure to various environmental conditions including weather, moisture, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, radiation, and vibration.
