Flight Crew Training Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world's premier aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Crew Training Instructor (FCTI) to deliver exceptional ground-based academic training for U.S. Air Force and Allied Nation KC-46 Pilots, Aeromedical students, and Maintenance Engine Run students. The instructor will be responsible for measuring student progress and documenting performance throughout formal aircrew, aeromedical, and maintenance training courses.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial, upgrade, and requalification academic training utilizing classrooms, Pilot Part Task Trainers (PTTP), Boom Operator Part Task Trainers (PTTB), Fuselage Trainers (FuT), Weapon Systems Trainers (WST), and KC-46 aircraft.
- Instruct the Maintenance Engine Run course.
- Deliver other ground-based training for KC-46 crew members, including Visual Threat Recognition and Avoidance Trainer instruction.
- Conduct briefings, debriefings, and counseling sessions with Pilot, Aeromedical, and Maintenance students to foster technical expertise and proficiency.
- Extract and analyze student data to prepare for student review sessions.
- Serve as a KC-46 Aircraft Systems Subject Matter Expert for students and other personnel.
- Maintain exceptional standards of instruction, knowledge, and expertise.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of KC-46 aircraft systems and operating procedures.
- Demonstrate exceptional knowledge and application of instructional principles and theories related to aircrew training systems.
- Provide input for courseware corrections and modifications, along with updates to training policies and procedures.
- Operate Learning Management Systems and Graduate Training Integration Management Systems.
- Conduct examinations and prepare results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive aviation aircrew or aviation-related instructor experience in required training topics (aircraft systems).
- Familiarity with the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process is desired.
- Courseware development experience is highly desirable.
- Tanker and receiver experience as a Crewmember is highly desirable.
- Aviation Mechanics, Flight Engineers, Navigators, or Weapon Systems Officers with at least 10 years of military experience in the associated positions are highly desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Morally and ethically influence others to achieve program goals.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with students and provide remediation.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers and software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
- Ability to successfully accomplish an annual internal standardization evaluation.
- Current possession, or ability to obtain, a SECRET clearance.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The teammate must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds and have close and distance vision with the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
