Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company, seeks a full-time Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. The ideal candidate will adhere to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients, encompassing core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that meet client needs and curriculum standards.
- Evaluate trainee progress, recommending qualification or additional training as necessary.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client, supporting their objective achievement.
- Identify training issues and proactively seek assistance.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- Must participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possess an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state license.
- If an ATP certificate is not held, must meet 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 requirements without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Hold a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
- Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
- Proficient in first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Receptive to coaching and feedback for continuous development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role requires the ability to:
- Use hands to operate controls, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.
- Stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and discern tastes and smells.
- Reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque with both feet.
- Reach and manipulate simulator controls from the instructor’s chair.
- Enter and exit the simulator via a provided ramp.
- Move between instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in the classroom.
- Exit a malfunctioning simulator while in a pitched attitude.
- Possess the vision abilities of close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Work near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and in varying environmental conditions.
