Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world's leading aviation training company, seeks a highly qualified Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This role provides training in accordance with aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that effectively support training delivery and meet client needs as defined by the curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommending qualification or additional training as necessary.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client, facilitating their success in achieving specified training objectives.
- Proactively identify client training challenges and seek appropriate assistance.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state.
- Alternatively, if without an ATP, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.

- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and best practices.
- Strong understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage classes and deliver high-quality instruction.
- Demonstrated first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to use hands to operate controls, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and utilize their senses of taste and smell. Specific physical capabilities include:
- Ability to reach, exert pressure and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque with both feet.
- Ability to reach and manipulate various controls within the simulator device from the instructor's chair.
- Ability to safely enter and exit the simulator device using the provided ramp.
- Ability to move freely between the instructor station, screen, and podium in a classroom setting.
- Ability to safely exit from a malfunctioning simulator, even when pitched at a severe angle.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds frequently.
- The role involves frequent work near moving mechanical parts, potentially in high or precarious locations, and exposure to various environmental conditions, including wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, risk of electrical shock or radiation, and vibration.
