Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International
FlightSafety International, the world's premier professional aviation training company, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Flight Instructor to join its team. Purpose of the Position:
The Flight Instructor will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering strictly to all aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles. This role demands a commitment to excellence in delivering engaging and effective training programs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive pilot training in ground school and simulator environments, encompassing core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare high-quality training materials tailored to client needs and aligned with applicable curricula.
- Evaluate trainee progress meticulously, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for qualification or further training.
- Maintain detailed and accurate training records for each client, ensuring transparent tracking of progress toward defined objectives.
- Proactively identify and address client training challenges, seeking support as needed.
- Maintain all required instructor qualifications in accordance with current regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program is mandatory.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state.
- Candidates without an ATP certificate must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating is required.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121 operations, or military flight training.
- Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and best practices.
- Thorough understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage training sessions and deliver engaging instruction.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Willingness to receive constructive feedback and actively participate in professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires a wide range of physical motion, including reaching, exerting pressure, manipulating controls, and entering/exiting the simulator. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds regularly is necessary. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, varying weather conditions, and potential hazards such as fumes, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
