Purpose of Position
The Flight Instructor plays a critical role in shaping the future of aviation safety. This individual is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction that adheres to stringent aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Design and develop engaging training materials tailored to meet specific client needs and align with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate trainee progress through meticulous observation and recommend qualification or additional training as required.
- Maintain meticulous training records for each client, ensuring accurate documentation of their progress and supporting their achievement of training objectives.
- Proactively identify potential client training issues and seek assistance prior to training execution.
- Maintain current Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience
- Must be eligible and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is mandatory.
- Candidates without an ATP certificate must fulfill the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is required.
- Experience with FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The role of Flight Instructor demands specific physical capabilities. Candidates must be able to operate rudder controls and anti-torque mechanisms using both feet, reach and manipulate various simulator controls, and navigate the simulator environment. Strong communication skills are essential, including clear verbal instruction and active listening. The ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds is required.
The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and varying weather conditions.
