Purpose of the Position
The Flight Instructor plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of aviation by delivering exceptional ground and simulator-based flight instruction. This role demands adherence to stringent aviation regulations and unwavering commitment to FlightSafety's renowned training principles.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pilot ground and simulator training programs, encompassing core, specialty, and enrichment courses tailored to meet the specific needs of our diverse clientele.
- Develop and prepare engaging training materials that align with the applicable curriculum, ensuring an effective and enriching learning experience.
- Evaluate and meticulously track trainee progress, providing insightful recommendations for qualification or further training to foster continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate and detailed training records for each client, documenting their journey and supporting their successful achievement of desired objectives.
- Proactively identify potential training challenges faced by clients and seek timely assistance to ensure seamless and effective training delivery.
- Remain at the forefront of aviation knowledge and skills by diligently maintaining Instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience
- Unwavering commitment to safety, demonstrated through willingness to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state.
- In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the stipulated requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating, signifying proficiency and experience in a specific aircraft category.
- Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
- Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time, showcasing extensive practical experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices, ensuring a safe and compliant learning environment.
- In-depth understanding of relevant aviation regulations, demonstrating a commitment to upholding industry standards.
- Proven ability to manage classes effectively and deliver engaging instruction, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
- Strong first-level facilitation skills, enabling the smooth delivery of training content and effective group management.
- Excellent first-level customer service skills, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all trainees.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback, demonstrating a commitment to personal and professional growth within the role.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role requires physical dexterity, including the ability to operate simulator controls, move within confined spaces, and lift equipment up to 25 pounds. The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, and potential hazards associated with flight simulation.
