The Simulator Second-in-Command plays a crucial role by maintaining current qualifications in assigned programs. This enables the individual to serve effectively as the "Second-In-Command" for both internal personnel and external Customer Pilots undertaking Recurrent, Initial, or generic training courses. The role operates strictly within the established training curriculum, supporting training sessions without performing instructional duties.
The Second-in-Command (SIC) is responsible for acting as the flying partner for clients training in multi-crew aircraft who attend without a partner. In this capacity, the individual functions as a competent Second-in-Command, focused solely on flight deck support duties and not instructional tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or a Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D.) demonstrating satisfactory performance in the General Educational Development Testing Program. This must be complemented by two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior to commencing SIC duties, the applicant must hold the following certificates and meet minimum hour requirements:
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to use hands for tasks involving finger manipulation, handling, or feeling objects, tools, or controls; reaching with hands and arms; and engaging in verbal communication or hearing. The role may occasionally require standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and tasting or smelling.

Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee must be capable of regularly lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
The work environment frequently involves working near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, the employee may work in high, precarious places, in outside weather conditions, or be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
The typical noise level encountered in the work environment is usually moderate.
