FlightSafety International, the world’s premier professional aviation training company, is seeking a dedicated Simulator Second in Command (SIC). This position plays a vital role in supporting the training needs of client pilots during recurrent, initial, or generic training courses conducted within the established training curriculum. The Simulator Second in Command acts as a proficient cockpit partner, maintaining the necessary qualifications to provide essential support in multi-crew training environments.

The Simulator Second in Command is responsible for maintaining currency in assigned programs to effectively serve as “Second-In-Command” for both internal and external Customer Pilots during various training courses.
A high school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency (G.E.D.) with two to three (2-3) years of related experience and/or training is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands for controls, reach with hands and arms, and communicate verbally or through hearing. The role may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, and smelling. Specific physical motions are necessary to reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder/anti-torque controls with feet, manipulate controls within the simulator device, and safely enter/exit the simulator via the provided ramp. The ability to exit a malfunctioned simulator device while it is in a severely pitched attitude is also required.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The work environment frequently involves working near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, the employee may work in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions, and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this role is $48,875.00 to $83,375.00. Compensation is determined based on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, education, skills, experience, and current market demands.
