The SIC is responsible for maintaining currency in assigned training programs. The incumbent will act as Second-in-Command for both internal and external customer pilots during recurrent, initial, or generic training courses, adhering to the established curriculum. This role focuses on providing proficient support to client pilots, not instructional duties.
This position requires a wide range of physical motion, including: reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating rudder controls; reaching and manipulating simulator controls; entering and exiting the simulator via the provided ramp; and safely exiting a malfunctioning simulator in a variety of positions. The role involves regular lifting of up to 10 pounds, and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, varying weather conditions, and potential exposure to fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and vibration are inherent to the position. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, are also required. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
