Lead Pilot in Command - Gulfstream G450
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks an experienced and motivated Lead Pilot in Command for a Gulfstream G450 based near Chicagoland at Gary/Chicago International Airport (KGYY).

Responsibilities:
The Lead Pilot in Command will be a key leadership figure within the flight department, responsible for fostering a culture of safety, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism. Key responsibilities include:
Flight Department Leadership:
- Manage client relationships, balancing client needs with EJM's operational requirements.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance personnel to ensure timely and compliant completion of all aircraft maintenance events.
- Oversee flight department administration, including budgeting, supplies, subscriptions, and crew scheduling.
- Support and mentor fellow crew members, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team.
Safe Flight Operations:
- Ensure all crewing and trip assignments comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for all flights.
- Employ the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to mitigate operational risks.
- Maintain strict adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight inspections and accurately record aircraft discrepancies.
- Ensure proper ground servicing procedures are followed.
- Deliver professional passenger briefings and provide exceptional customer service.
- Utilize effective Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) techniques.
Exceptional Service Delivery:
- Provide a consistently high level of service to owners and passengers, proactively seeking opportunities to enhance their experience.
- Collaborate effectively with crew members and EJM internal partners to maintain service consistency.
Proficiency and Compliance:
- Remain current on all regulatory and company-required training and maintain recency of experience.
- Actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting any safety concerns.
- Ensure all crew members remain qualified and current on required training and certifications.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
- FAA Type rating in Gulfstream G450 (REQUIRED).
Minimum Flight Experience:
- Total flight time: 3,500 hours.
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours.
- Pilot in Command: 2,000 hours.
- PIC MEL: 500 hours.
- Instrument: 300 hours.
- Jet: 500 hours.
- Gulfstream V series experience.
- International flight experience preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in corporate/business aviation.
- Strong leadership skills and a demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to relocate to within driving distance of Gary/Chicago International Airport (KGYY).
