Pilot in Command (PIC) - Citation Longitude

Purpose of Position

Executive Jet Management seeks qualified Pilot in Command candidates for an established flight department. This team is preparing to take delivery of a new 2024 Citation Longitude aircraft, based in Council Bluffs, Iowa (CBF airport), conveniently located near Omaha, Nebraska. This position operates within a three-pilot account, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, flying approximately 400 hours annually under both Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. The role requires the successful candidate to reside within driving distance of the Council Bluffs, Iowa airport (CBF).

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command holds primary responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the assigned aircraft and the delivery of an exceptional service experience to clients. Key responsibilities include:

Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:

  • Ensures crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Completes flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
  • Utilizes Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
  • Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates effectively with company personnel.
  • Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator according to company policy.
  • Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including assessing maintenance status, to ensure mission capability.
  • Records all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
  • Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are monitored and accomplished per SOPs.
  • Conducts passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulations.
  • Delivers the highest level of customer service and accommodates any special passenger needs.
  • Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during all phases of flight.

Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:

  • Provides quality service to owners and passengers, actively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience.
  • Investigates and resolves service deviations regularly.
  • Collaborates effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to provide a consistent service experience.
  • Resolves conflict and challenges in a professional and acceptable manner.

Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:

  • Maintains required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
  • Complies with the company SMS program and reports safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
  • First Class Medical Certificate

Required Experience

  • 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Prior experience in corporate or business aviation is preferred.
  • Possession of an FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet (Citation Longitude) is required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command (PIC): 2000 hours
    • PIC Multi Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
