Position Summary
Executive Jet Management is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced Second in Command (SIC) candidates for a Challenger CL300 aircraft. Based in Chicago, IL, at Midway (MDW) International Airport, this critical role supports a dynamic three-pilot account, complemented by a dedicated Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting owner flights under both Part 135 and Part 91 regulations. Flying responsibilities are primarily domestic, with occasional international trips to the Caribbean and Mexico, averaging approximately 275 total annual flight hours. Please note: This is a non-commutable position, requiring the chosen candidate to reside within convenient driving distance of Midway Airport.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates as Second in Command (SIC) on a Challenger CL300, strictly adhering to the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, and all other pertinent operational instructions.
- Ensures the highest standards of safety, security, and quality by consistently complying with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and promptly reporting any safety, security, or quality recommendations or non-compliance observations through established processes.
- Manages post-flight procedures for the aircraft interior, including but not limited to, the meticulous removal of cockpit debris, ice, coffee, and catering, and promptly reports any interior equipment discrepancies to the Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Proactively arranges and procures all necessary cabin items, including catering, as identified by the Flight Operations Center, consistently delivering an exceptional level of customer service.
- Coordinates all work schedules and schedule modifications effectively with the Chief Pilot. Accurately logs and reports all flight and duty times, and communicates any commercial flying performed outside the company to the Flight Operations Center for comprehensive record-keeping.
- Maintains a valid First Class Medical Certificate and ensures a current copy is provided to the Flight Operations Training Department by the 20th of the month it is due.
Minimum Qualifications
Certifications & Licenses
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- Current First Class Medical Certificate (and maintained throughout employment)
- Valid U.S. Passport
Experience
- Minimum of 2-4 years of professional aviation experience.
- Preference will be given to local candidates possessing experience with similar aircraft types.
Flight Time Minimums:
- Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Instrument: 150 hours
- Jet: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine: 100 hours
- Time in Type: 50 hours
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAOs)
- Demonstrated strong prioritization and organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple high-level priorities effectively.
- Proven proactive decision-making abilities in dynamic operational environments.
- Ability to maintain the highest service standards within a strict and evolving regulatory landscape.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Willingness and ability to obtain a FAA Type Rating in the Challenger CL300.
Compensation
The base salary for this Second in Command (SIC) position on a Supermid Cabin aircraft like the Challenger CL300 is expected to range from $125,000 to $190,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. EJM's broader compensation framework for pilots includes ranges up to $325,000 for Large/Heavy/Premium cabin aircraft.
