Cirrus Aircraft seeks a highly skilled and professional Flight Instructor to deliver industry-leading, learner-centric flight training to its discerning customers. This pivotal role involves providing expert instruction in iconic Cirrus Aircraft SF models at premier Cirrus Services Centers across the USA. The training adheres to a structured syllabus, utilizing proprietary course material to ensure a streamlined and highly effective learning process for pilots seeking the absolute best. The Flight Instructor 4 reports directly to the Flight Operations Supervisor.
The Flight Instructor's primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive flight and ground instruction on the SF50 platform, including Part 61 instruction for supervised operating experience (SOE) and instrument proficiency checks (IPCs).
- Acting as Pilot in Command (PIC) for Cirrus corporate flight operations, such as demonstration flights, repositioning flights, post-maintenance flights, ferry flights, and internal training flights, in compliance with 14 CFR Part 91 regulations.
- Performing flight reviews, proficiency checks, and other related pilot and flight instructor duties as required.
- Adhering meticulously to all established industry and Cirrus safety procedures and policies.
- Delivering exceptional, professional customer service and making timely, accurate decisions concerning flight safety.
- Conducting training events strictly following program guidance and requirements, providing instruction per Cirrus policy and procedure documents.
- Maintaining meticulous records of all training event activities and results in pilot training records.
- Assessing pilot performance across psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains for each training event and discovering opportunities to customize training to individual student needs.
- Recommending students for FAA written and practical tests.
- Identifying and communicating pilot progression opportunities, record keeping, safety management, and recommending process improvements.
- Executing thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, ensuring aircraft are clean, fueled, oiled, and de-iced, and chart subscriptions are updated.
- Demonstrating continuous learning of the latest developments in the Cirrus Aircraft product line, maintaining a deep level of aircraft knowledge, and serving as a model aviator, flight instructor, and Cirrus representative.
- Maintaining consistent communication with students both pre- and post-training to enhance flight safety through high-quality, standardized instruction.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of three years of pilot experience.
- 1000 hours of dual given, or 750 hours of dual given in Cirrus aircraft.
- An SF50 Type rating is required (Cirrus may provide for the right candidate). An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is preferred.
- Ability to meet ATP Single Engine requirements as outlined in FAR 61.159 (1500 total time, 500 cross-country, 100 night, 75 instrument, 250 airplane PIC).
- 100 hours of turbine time or current employment as a pilot by Cirrus Aircraft.
- A current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane Single Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- A current FAA Pilot Certificate with Commercial Airplane Single Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- A current Second-class Airman Medical Certificate or higher.
- Preferred experience includes IFR operations in congested airspace, mountain flying, extensive IMC, international flight, and night flying.
