Aviation Instructor - T-44A/C Aircraft Systems and Operational Procedures
CAE is seeking a qualified Aviation Instructor to provide T-44A/C aircraft systems and operational procedures instruction in classroom, simulator, and practical training environments. The Aviation Instructor will also serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) as required. The role may include additional responsibilities such as courseware review and administrative or collateral duties, including publications, safety, quality audits, scheduling, and other duties as assigned by the Program or Site Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Provides pilot procedures instruction in classroom and simulator environments.
- Assists with the development and updates of training devices.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert in the development of curriculum for new courses and the review of existing lessons.
- Provides suggestions to improve and update training policies and procedures.
- Promotes a positive attitude towards learning and embracing new technologies and tasks.
- Performs diagnosis and remediation of student performance issues.
- Assists in project and development work as assigned.
- Performs administrative duties such as student record keeping, monitoring student progress, counseling, quality assurance, safety, and security.
- Ensures safety in simulator environments.
- Maintains proficiency in operation of Aircrew Training Devices.
- Maintains proficiency in all areas of instruction and successfully completes standardization checks and classroom evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Prior military pilot or FAA flight instructor certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine and Instrument-Airplane ratings.
- Minimum of 1,000 hours of flight time.
- Knowledge of DoD rules and regulations governing aircraft operations and use of DoD forms and documents for aircraft instrument flight operations.
- Graduate of a military instruction course, or equivalent, meeting Navy’s Instructor Training Course standard.
- Working knowledge of NATRACOM flight training and courseware curricula.
- Working knowledge of administrator functions associated with courseware presentation programs.
- Ability to induct new students, purge old students, generate performance reports, and field queries regarding student progress.
- Strong facilitation and data analysis skills.
- Ability to participate in periodic aircraft familiarization flights.
- Proficiency in emergency procedures.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to generate effective oral and written presentations on complex subjects.
- Ability to calculate figures, amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Willingness to work any shift or day of the week as required.
- Must be eligible for a US Government security investigation and meet the requirements to obtain necessary clearances.
- Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
